A Custom Home Builder Passionately Committed to Individual Attention & Detail
By simple definition, Create Fine Homes is a custom home builder. Create Fine Homes is one of many in the Atlanta market. But a company is a reflections of its employees and in the case of Create Fine Homes, there is only one. My name is Colin Gallagher and I operate Create Fine Homes. No superintendents, no bookkeepers, no office managers. The buck starts and stops with me. I tirelessly do it all and Create Fine Homes is a projection of me, my personality and my passion. I selectively choose a very limited number of projects to build at any given time. I dedicate individual attention and service and consummate attention to detail to each of my selected projects. I am a master custom home builder and this is my story:
I didn’t know I was going to become a builder when I grew up; I sort of stumbled my way into it actually. I was 22 years old and working for a global management consultant firm. Lots of travel, stays at premier hotels, expense accounts, global 100 corporate clients but something was missing for me. So I took a chance and took a leave of absence and embarked on an opportunity to renovate a house with a friend. I loved it. I became hooked and I never went back. That was nearly 20 years ago.
As I reflect on past experiences, I suppose there were signs pointing to fine homebuilding as my profession. Building forts and ramps and remote control cars as a kid. Working as a carpenter and heavy machinery operator for two summers in Wyoming during college. Enrollment in the limited handful of elective architecture courses at Boston College. It kind of all adds up now and as my grandfather once told me: “find something you’re passionate about and you’ll figure out how to make a living at it”.
So, for nearly 20 years, that’s what I’ve done. I’ve studied, I’ve researched, I’ve witnessed, I’ve observed, I’ve been inquisitive, I’ve tested and tried and yes, I’ve stumbled occasionally. All the while, I’ve pursued passionate and talented architects who have given me chances for which I’m eternally grateful. And these architects have introduced me to great clients for whom I have dedicated all of my heart, knowledge and soul.
I build with a bit of a chip on my shoulder, trying to outdo my competition, trying to outdo myself. I want to be recognized not only as a great builder, but as a builder who embraces evolution, innovation and improvement as well.
Relationships are paramount to the success of my projects and my business. I treat people as I would want to be treated, whether a client, an architect, a designer, a vendor or a trade partner. I employ craftsmen who bring both a smile and a fire in their belly to the job site. I unequivocally respect clients’ projects and monies as I would my own. I’m not perfect but I am passionate, honest, dependable, patient and self aware. It is my hope that my work reflects my pursuit of mastery.
